A Profile of Wellbeing in Ontario: The Central Region
November 1, 2020
The Central region of Ontario has a population that is generally younger, is made up of more families who are living in their own homes, and boasts one of the highest levels of ethnic diversity. People in the region enjoy the highest after-tax median incomes of anywhere in the province as well as the highest level of employment and the lowest level of unemployment. Not surprisingly, then, the region has the lowest percentage of the population in low income and facing food insecurity. Overall, it is a fairly economically secure, family-oriented region of the province. From Ontario Trillium Foundation.
